Tattoo Number 9 – Rainbow Skull and Crossbones

Location On Body: Right Arm

Shop Location: Evergreen Hospital employee Picnic

How Long It Took: about 30 seconds

I know I’m going out of order, skipping right to tattoo #9 but I just got this one today so I’m excited to share my story. So today I made kind of an impulsive decision.  I decided to get a rainbow skull and crossbones tattoo. Before you go making any judgements let me offer my reasoning. There were three main reasons why I chose to get this design at this time. The first reason had to do with the selection. There weren’t many options in the book to chose from. They had a mariners logo but I’m not really into professional sports. There was a lips design that I thought about getting on my neck but I didn’t know what Kami would think of that. I already have hearts and stars so that ruled out quite a few possibilities. So, you can see how the rainbow skull and crossbones could really start to look appealing in this context.  The second reason, is that it was free.  And the third reason is that tattooing can be quite a social event, when you get one with friends or family, and all of my kids were getting one. Dove and I even got a matching one. So anyways, it will always be there to mark this very memorable day at the picnic and someday I’ll look back and think: “Remember when I thought rainbow skull and crossbones were cool” But until then, because I would do it again in a heartbeat, I am rating this on the

Regret-ability Scale: 0 out of 10

  1. two things worth mentioning. Memory was going to get the skull and crossbones but the lady said her arm wasn’t big enough. lame. the second, is that as we were going up there dove asked if they were permanent. i told here that they were and i asked her if she minded getting a rainbow skull and crossbones on her arm forever. she said that she didn’t. hmmmm….i told her 2 minutes later that i was just kidding and they would wash away.

  2. Given the situation and selection, and the need to make sure you oldest daughter didn’t end up with some whimpy dolphin, I approve.

  3. Simply awesome! Sounds like a great family activity. Thanks for the idea. Now I know what I can do with my daugter next time she and I are out looking for something to do.
